First printing of the first trade paperback edition of Sexual Symbolism: A History of Phallic Worship by Richard Payne Knight & Thomas Wright (Agora, 1966). Complete in two volumes: A Discourse on the Worship of Priapus [1786] & The Worship of the Generative Powers [1866]. Hard to find vintage book on the history of sexuality as represented in art and society. Some rubbing/scuffing to covers and shelf wear around the edges - including slightly bumped corners. Spine has some rubbing and dent/creases near middle. Small “k” written on bottom right corner of front cover. Binding is firm and spine is straight though binding glue is visible in gutter between front cover and first page. Some discoloration from glue to last page and interior of back cover, otherwise all pages are clean and unmarked. See photos for condition.
